The President of the Republic Arrives at Walata to Supervise the Opening of the Twelfth Edition of the Medayn Heritage Festival

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, arrived Friday morning in the city of Walata in the state of Hodh Charghi, at the beginning of a visit during which he will supervise the opening of the twelfth edition of the Medayn Al-Turath Festival, which is hosted this year in the historic city of Walata.

Upon his arrival, the President of the Republic was received by the Governor of  Hodh Charghi Province, Mr. Isselmou Ould Sidi, the Minister of Culture, Youth, Sports and Relations with Parliament, Mr. Ahmed Sid’Ahmed Die, and the President of the Regional Council of the State, Mr. Mohamedou Ould Tijani.

His Excellency was also received by the Governor of the province of Walata, Mr. Mohamed Salem Isselmou, the mayor of its municipality, Mr. Sidati Dih, the deputy of its province, Mr. Sidi Jajouh, Major General Abdullah Mohamed Sid’Elemine, Commander of the Fifth Military Region, and some military and security leaders in the state.

His Excellency the President of the Republic then shook hands with the elected officials, notables and executives of  Hodh Charghi State and the city of Walata, who have been queuing since the morning to receive him.

On the outskirts of the city, the residents of the province of Walata devoted a warm popular welcome to His Excellency the President of the Republic, carrying national flags, enlarged pictures of His Excellency and banners bearing the words of welcome to His Excellency.
