President of Republic: We Have All Necessary Factors to Become Major Player in the Global Market for Green Hydrogen and Green Mining Industries

On 25 october, the president of the republic, H.E Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani Mauritania has all the necessary factors to become one of the main players in the global market for green hydrogen and green mining industries, thanks to its enormous renewable energy potential (estimated at 4,000 gigawatts, of which 500 are ready for immediate development), its unique geographical location, and its rich mineral reserves, especially iron.

In a speech delivered Wednesday in Brussels during a session on the energy transition and green hydrogen, within the framework of the Global Gateway Forum organized by the European Union, His Excellency the President of the Republic said that developing this new energy locally will allow us to produce green steel on a large scale, and will put our country on the path of rapid industrialization, while avoiding annual greenhouse gas emissions for the equivalent of a medium-sized industrial country.
