President of Republic Leaves for Addis Ababa To Take Part in AU Summit

On 17 February, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, left Nouakchott for Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) to participate in the 36th Summit of the African Union (AU).

The President of the Republic was greeted upon his departure from Nouakchott-Oumtounsy International Airport by the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Ould Bilal Messoud, the Minister Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, the Minister Counselor at the Presidency

of the Republic, the Minister of Justice, the Minister of National Defense, the Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, the Deputy Director of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic, the Wali of Western Nouakchott, and the Vice-President of the Region of Nouakchott.

During this trip, His Excellency the President of the Republic is accompanied by a large delegation comprising:

  • Coumba Ba, a minister counselor at the Presidency of the Republic;
  • Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad;
  • Lalya Kamara, the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development;
  • Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, the Director of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic;
  • Khadija Mbareck Fall, the Ambassador of Mauritania in Addis Ababa;
  • Ahmed Ould Bah a.k.a. Hmeïda, an advisor at the Presidency of the Republic;
  • Issa Daouda Diallo, an adviser at the Presidency of the Republic;
  • El Hacen Ould Ahmed, the Director General of State Protocol.
