President of Republic Inaugurates Development Projects in Tagant

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, supervised Monday in Tidjikja the inauguration of important development project for the inhabitants of Tagant.

These projects include a power plant with a capacity of 1500 KW to cover the needs of the city of Tidjikja in electricity during all periods of the year.

The projects supervised by His Excellency the President of the Republic also comprise the start of works on the road linking the city of Tidjikja to Boumdeid as well as the urban network of the city of Tidjikja and the construction of the unfinished section of the Tidjikja-Kiffa- Sélibaby-Gabou, 156 km long.

The Tijikja-Boumdeid road, financed by the Mauritanian State and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) to the tune of 4,400 million new ouguiyas and whose work lasts 30 days, is a vital project that should open up many localities. including “Dakhlet Mory”, “Neg’a”, “Erg Achtouth”, “Wadroum Chwalil”, “Tachout Essavra” and “Meksem Ben Amer”.
