On 14 November, in Paris, Mr. Ousmane Mamoudou Kane, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Promotion of the Productive Sectors held a meeting with Mr. Olivier Becht, the French Minister Delegate in charge of Foreign Trade and Investments.
The talks focused on ways to enhance economic relations between the two countries and the opportunities to attract French investment to Mauritania, which has multiple and diversified resources in the field of productive sectors: fisheries, agriculture, and livestock, and to enhance these resources through the creation and development of agri-food industries.
During the meeting, the French Minister showed great interest in the country’s capabilities and the opportunities available and decided to visit Mauritania next year with a delegation of French economic operators to get a close look at all the possibilities that the country’s economy offers.
