President of Republic Pardons Prisoners condemned in Terrorist Cases

The President of the Republic, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, Pardoned Friday some prisoners condemned in terrorist cases after having expressed their repentance, revised their ideological orientations, and rejected terrorism and violence.

In a statement it issued on Friday, the Presidency of the Republic announced that this amnesty is part of the national approach to the fight against terrorism and extremism, which revolves around axes including dialogue and discussion to correct ideas and concepts and create appropriate alternatives and solutions for the reintegration of prisoners involved in terrorism cases.
