The President of the Republic: We are continuing to consolidate equity, social justice, and the fight against injustice and fragility

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr.

Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani said that the state is steadily moving forward in consolidating the principles of equity and social justice, and combating injustice and fragility, as an irreversible strategic option aimed at improving the living conditions of the most needy citizens.

This came during a speech delivered by His Excellency at an iftar ceremony organized by the General Delegation for National Solidarity and Combating Exclusion (Taazour), on Thursday evening in Nouakchott, in honor of one hundred people representing the “Taazour” community from various provinces of the country.

He added that “Taazour” is neither a gift nor a favor, but rather an actual embodiment of citizens’ right to dignity, equal opportunities and equality before the law, noting that the government, through this delegation, has worked to translate these principles into practical policies and programs.

His Excellency pointed out that the volume of investments directed to the General Delegation for National Solidarity and Combating Exclusion during the past six years, i.e. since the establishment of “Taazour” until the beginning of 2026, exceeded 249 billion old ouguyas, which enabled the achievement of tangible achievements in the fields of education, health, water, electricity and social work, adding that these achievements included the construction and equipping of hundreds of educational and health institutions, the universalization of health insurance for the benefit of more than 113 thousand families, the establishment of water infrastructures, and the connection of a number of villages to the electricity networks. In addition to financing thousands of productive activities, hundreds of thousands of families benefited from cash transfers.

He urged giving priority to children’s education and the demand for vocational training, which has increased from 5,000 to more than 20,000 beneficiaries, as a key lever for achieving economic and social integration.

His Excellency concluded by stressing that the General Delegation for National Solidarity and Combating Exclusion “Taazour” represents a tool to achieve true empowerment, and that the good investment of its services remains dependent on the awareness of the beneficiaries and their keenness to work, persevere and educate their children.
