Foreign Minister Receives Message Sent to President of Republic by the OIF Secretary General

On 4 February, in Nouakchott, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, received Ambassador Désire Nyaruhirira, Special Political and Diplomatic Advisor to the Secretary General of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF).

During the meeting, the Minister received a message addressed to His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Republic, from Ms. Louise Mushikiwabo, the OIF Secretary General.

The meeting focused on the cooperative relations between Mauritania and the OIF, ways to strengthen and develop them, as well as an exchange of views on several issues of common interest, including Mauritania’s participation in the OIF’s activities and in the work of the 106th session of the Executive Bureau of the International Association of Francophone Mayors, held in Nouakchott.
