President of Republic Receives New Japanese Ambassador’s Credentials

On 3 February, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received the credentials of H.E. Mr. Uchida Hiroyuki, in his capacity as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Empire of Japan to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

The President of the Republic then granted an audience to the Japanese diplomat, in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad.

Following the audience, the Japanese diplomat made the following statement to the Mauritanian news agency:

“I am the Ambassador of Japan to Mauritania, and I am honored to have presented my credentials to His Excellency the President of the Republic. I am also very happy to be working in Mauritania to strengthen bilateral relations between Mauritania and Japan.”
