Mauritania participates in the Activities of the 18th Session of the Global Forum on Food and Agriculture

The 18th session of the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture, organized by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture and Local Affairs, was inaugurated yesterday, Thursday, in the German capital, Berlin.
Mauritania was represented at the activities of this forum by a high-level delegation, headed by the Ambassador of Mauritania to the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Kane Boubakar, representing the Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, Mr. Sid’ Ahmed Ould Bouh, and including the Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty in charge of agricultural affairs and plant protection, as well as the Director of Planning, Statistics, Cooperation, Monitoring, and Evaluation at the ministry.
This course addresses a range of issues, most notably the management of irrigation water, the introduction of smart systems and modern technologies, and enhancing the resilience of the agricultural sector in facing climate change, in addition to adopting a blue economy approach in the agricultural field.
This course, which continues until the seventeenth of the current month, provides an opportunity to hold bilateral meetings aimed at building and strengthening partnerships in the agricultural sector, as well as organizing an international agricultural exhibition on the occasion of Green Week in Berlin.
