Minister of Real Estate and State Properties receives the Executive Secretary of the African Agency for the Great Green Wall

The Minister of Real Estate, State Property, and Land Reform, Mr. Mamadou Mamadou Niang, received this morning, Tuesday, at his office in Nouakchott, the Executive Secretary of the African Great Green Wall Agency, Mr. Al-Mustafa Garba.
The discussions focused on ways to strengthen cooperation between our country and this agency, particularly regarding land governance and the establishment of a land registry in the areas along the project’s route.
The Great Green Wall project, launched by the African Union in 2007, aims to create a strip of vegetation stretching across the African continent from west to east to combat desertification and promote sustainable development.
The Great Green Wall project in Mauritania passes through the regions of Trarza, Brakna, Assaba, Tagant, the Eastern Hodh, and the Western Hodh.
The meeting was held in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Hammadi.
