Camec confirms Availability of Chronic Disease Medications

Nouakchott

The Centralized Procurement of Medicines and Medical Supplies (CAMEC) has confirmed that medicines for chronic diseases registered with the Ministry are currently available in sufficient quantities in central warehouses and are distributed according to a digitized mechanism that ensures transparency and smooth supply.

In a briefing on the subject, it added that there are more than 320 registered and approved drugs available, covering various basic treatments for chronic diseases, especially diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, anticoagulants, and others.

It emphasized that the supply process is carried out periodically for private suppliers, and that all supply, storage, and distribution operations are subject to strict technical and administrative control, within the framework of applying national standards to ensure the quality and safety of medicines and prevent any interruption in their supply.
