Mauritania participates in meeting of Arab finance ministers, central bank governors with IMF Managing Director
The Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Sid’Ahmed Ould Bouh, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Lemine Ould Dhehbi, participated on Wednesday in the work of the meeting of Ministers of Economy and Finance and Central Bank Governors of the Arab countries and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, as part of the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group held in Washington, DC.
The meeting session focused on discussing the most prominent economic and financial challenges facing the countries of the region in light of the continuing consequences of global crises, and during the session they exchanged views on the policies required to promote inclusive and sustainable growth, and the role of international financial institutions in supporting economic reform programs and enhancing resilience to shocks.
This meeting is a periodic platform for exchanging views between finance and monetary officials in the region and the IMF management, in order to enhance joint cooperation and allow anticipating the upcoming economic challenges.
