Government Spokesperson: African Union Honored His Excellency the President of Republic in Recognition of his Contributions to the Continent
The Minister of Culture, Arts, Communication, and Relations with Parliament, and Government Spokesperson, Mr. El Houcein Ould Medou, confirmed that the leaders of the African continent and numerous media professionals praised the achievements of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, during his term at the helm of the African Union. These achievements spanned various priorities of the continent, characterized by calm and openness, reflecting a positive image of Mauritania’s status in Africa.
In response to a question on this topic during his commentary on the results of the Cabinet meeting, he stated that the term concluded with the President receiving several honorary awards. These included being named Africa’s Champion of Science and Innovation and plans to establish a pharmaceutical company on the continent, which will be named in his honor.
He added that the Cabinet today congratulated His Excellency the President of the Republic on these achievements that covered the continent’s priorities, such as promoting peace, attracting investment, and improving the representation of the continent in international institutions. For the first time, the continent has obtained a permanent representative in the World Bank Group, along with membership in the G20, in addition to efforts to raise issues related to education, agriculture, and energy.
