President of Republic, AU Chairman, Congratulates Lebanese President-Elect

On 9 January, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and Chairman of the African Union (AU), sent a congratulatory message to His Excellency Mr. Joseph Aoun, the President-elect of the Lebanese Republic, expressing his warm congratulations on his election today as President of the Republic of Lebanon.

The message reads as follows:

“Excellency Mr. President and dear brother, Mr. Joseph Aoun,

On the occasion of your election to the Presidency of the Lebanese Republic, I am pleased to extend to you my sincere congratulations and best wishes for success in accomplishing your important mission.

I would also like to assure you that our government and people support you and the brotherly Lebanese people in everything that can strengthen the security and stability of the Lebanese Republic and preserve its territorial integrity.

On this happy occasion, I reiterate our willingness to work with you to develop and strengthen relations of cooperation and brotherhood between our two countries and our two brotherly people.
