The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Mauritania held a reception on Wednesday evening in Nouakchott, on the occasion of the National Day of the founding of the State of Qatar.
The government was represented at the ceremony by Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Oil and Energy, Advisor to the Prime Minister in charge of Information, Sidi Abdallah Mohamed Lamine Salek, and Ambassador and Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Ball Mohamed Lahbib.
In a speech on the occasion, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mauritania Shaheen bin Ali Khalfan Al Kaabi expressed the authenticity and nobility of the existing relationship between the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, adding that this relationship is constantly developing and strengthening day by day.
He praised the excellent level of relations between the two brotherly countries under the leadership of HE the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, and HH the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, which was reflected in more effective partnership and constructive cooperation to serve the interests of the two peoples and countries.
In the same context, he added that the State of Qatar has implemented many important projects in Mauritania, and is constantly keen to open new horizons for cooperation and provide everything that would develop the relationship and serve the two brotherly peoples.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Mohamed Al-Hanashi Al-Kuttab, Ambassador and Director General of the Directorate of Bilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Omar Ahmed Babou, Ambassador and Director General of the Arab World Department, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Adow, Director of Communication and Media, and Mr. Mohamed Bab Al Mahmoud, Ambassador of Protocol at the same Ministry, as well as a number of members of the diplomatic corps in Mauritania and national figures.
