On 9 December, His Excellency Paul Kagame, the President of the Republic of Rwanda, began a working visit to Mauritania to take part in the African Union’s Continental Conference on Education, Youth, and Employability, held in Nouakchott from 9 to 11 December 2024.
His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and chairman of the African Union, received the Rwandan guest at Nouakchott International Airport, surrounded by the Prime Minister, Mr. Mokhtar Ould Diay, the Minister Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, the Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, the Wali of Nouakchott West, and the Vice President of the Nouakchott Region.
After reviewing the ceremonial formations, the Rwandan President shook hands with the Minister Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, the Minister Counsellors at the Presidency of the Republic, and the Ministers of Justice, Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, Mauritanians Abroad, National Defense, Retirees, and Children of Martyrs.
For his part, the President of the Republic shook hands with the members of the Rwandan delegation accompanying His Excellency President Paul Kagame.
Mr Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani and his Rwandan counterpart had a private meeting in the VIP lounge of the presidential suite at Nouakchott International Airport.
