President of the Republic and President of the African Union visits the Mauritanian Pavilion at COP29 in Baku
The President of the Republic and Chairperson of the African Union, HE Mr.Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, on Wednesday morning, as part of his participation in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) COP29 Summit, visited the Mauritanian pavilion at the COP29 exhibition in Baku.
Upon arrival at the country’s pavilion, His Excellency was received by Minister of Energy and Petroleum Mohamed Ould Khaled, Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development Messaouda bint Baham Ould Mohamed Lakhdaf, as well as some Mauritanian staff participating in COP29.
The President of the Republic was accompanied by the First Lady, Dr Meriem Mohamed Fadel Dah, the Minister in charge of the Office of the President of the Republic, Mr.Nani Ould Achrouga, and HE our Ambassador in Baku, Mr. Cheikh Sidi Ahmed El Bakay Ould Hamadi.
On Tuesday, HE the President of the Republic participated in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), where he delivered an important speech on the challenges facing the planet as a result of this phenomenon.
