Spanish Embassy in Nouakchott to organize Reception on occasion of National Day of Kingdom of Spain.

On Thursday night, the Spanish Embassy in Nouakchott organized a reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Spain.
The government was represented by H.E. Minister of Justice Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Abdallah Ould Bayyah, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad; H.E. Minister of Fisheries, Maritime Infrastructure and Port, Mr. El Fadil Ould Sidati Ould Ahmed Loulé; Ms. Hendo Mint Ainina, Advisor to the Prime Minister in charge of Political Affairs; and Ambassador Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Bal Mohamed El Habib.
During her speech on the occasion, Her Excellency Mrs. Miriam Alvarez de la Rosa, Spanish Ambassador accredited to our country, congratulated the Mauritanian people, government and institutions for the maturity they demonstrated through the wise organization of the presidential elections held last June, noting the great roles played by Mauritania, which has become an example of stability and progress in the “Sahel” region plunged into a very complex situation due to the successive security, demographic, economic and political challenges.
She revealed the numerous and successive visits by the Spanish authorities to Mauritania during the past three years and their high level, and what they symbolize of the valuable partnership between the two countries; she added that the head of the Spanish government had the opportunity to congratulate His Excellency the President of the Republic on his re-election to a new term, during a bilateral visit on August 27 last, during which more agreements were signed that strengthen the relationship between the two countries. It is the second time this year that the head of the Spanish government has visited Mauritania.
She praised Mauritania’s efforts to find peaceful solutions to regional and continental issues and conflicts, highlighting in this context the great material and humanitarian role that Mauritania plays in hosting large numbers of migrants coming from African countries, as well as the important level of coordination that Mauritania carries out in cooperation with the Kingdom of Spain in the field of combating irregular migration and preserving the rights of migrants.
