President of Republic Offers Condolences to Kenyan Counterpart

The President of the Republic, President of the African Union, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, sent the following message of condolences to the President of Kenya, Mr. William Ruto, following the death of a number of students in the fire at the Hillside Endarasha Academy.

Here is the text of this message:

“I learned with deep sadness and dismay the news of the fire that broke out at the Hillside Endarasha Academy, which caused the death of a number of promising young students.

On this painful occasion, I would like to address to you and to the brotherly people of Kenya, in my personal name and on behalf of the government and people of Mauritania, our sincere feelings of condolence and compassion, as well as our fraternal solidarity. We wish the relatives of the victims patience and the injured a speedy recovery.

Please accept, Excellency and dear brother, the assurances of my highest fraternal consideration.
