Presidential Decree Convenes Extraordinary Session of National Assembly

The Presidency of the Republic communicates that, by decree on  Monday, 26 August  2024, Parliament is convened in an extraordinary session starting Wednesday, 4 September 2024.

The decree reads as follows:

“The President Of the Republic,

Upon the report of the Prime Minister,

Having regard to Article 53 of the Constitution,

Decrees:

Article 1: Parliament is convened in an extraordinary session starting Wednesday, 4 September 2024.

Article 2: The agenda of this session will include:

1. the Presentation of the Declaration of the Government’s General Policy,
2. a draft law establishing the specialized court to combat slavery, human trafficking, and migrant smuggling.
3. a draft law amending some provisions of law number 65-046 on 23 February 1965 containing penal provisions relating to the immigration regime.
4. a draft law on the green hydrogen code.

Article 3: The Prime Minister is responsible for the execution of this decree, which will be published following the emergency procedure in the Official Journal of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.’’
