The Presidency of the Republic communicates that, by decree on Monday, 26 August 2024, Parliament is convened in an extraordinary session starting Wednesday, 4 September 2024.
The decree reads as follows:
“The President Of the Republic,
Upon the report of the Prime Minister,
Having regard to Article 53 of the Constitution,
Decrees:
Article 1: Parliament is convened in an extraordinary session starting Wednesday, 4 September 2024.
Article 2: The agenda of this session will include:
- the Presentation of the Declaration of the Government’s General Policy,
- a draft law establishing the specialized court to combat slavery, human trafficking, and migrant smuggling.
- a draft law amending some provisions of law number 65-046 on 23 February 1965 containing penal provisions relating to the immigration regime.
- a draft law on the green hydrogen code.
Article 3: The Prime Minister is responsible for the execution of this decree, which will be published following the emergency procedure in the Official Journal of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.’’
