The Minister of Culture, Arts, Communication, and Relations with Parliament, Mr.  Houssein Ould Meddou, stated that the President of the Republic emphasized during the introductory meeting of the Council of Ministers today the need for government members to demonstrate integrity and transparency. Corruption will not be tolerated, and there will be no leniency in combating it.

Commenting on the results of the cabinet meeting on Tuesday evening in Nouakchott, he stressed that the President of the Republic required them to declare their properties.

He added that His Excellency urged government solidarity, teamwork, and political commitment, as appointments are political decisions that require the empowerment of the regime.

He emphasized that granting ministers their full powers to perform their duties does not absolve them of their responsibilities. They are accountable for implementing their sector’s programs transparently, including holding accountable everyone with responsibilities within the sector.

During the meeting today, His Excellency the President of the Republic congratulated the new members and those who were reinstated, wishing success to all in their entrusted tasks.
