President of Republic Stresses Importance of Coordination to Address Challenges Facing Continent

The President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, current Chairman of the African Union (AU), stressed the importance of close coordination between the AU and the Regional Economic Commissions as a factor key to accelerating the pace of implementation of continental integration programs.

In a speech delivered during his presidency of the sixth biannual coordination meeting between the AU and the Regional Economic Commissions and regional mechanisms on Sunday in Accra, he urged to work diligently to address the economic, social and security challenges, and the multi-dimensional crises sweeping the world, with a growing negative impact on the path of development in the African continent.
