President of Republic, President-Elect, Receives Message of Congratulations From President of Germany

On 12 July, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, President-elect,  received a message of congratulations from His Excellency Mr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, following his re-election to the Supreme Office of Mauritania.

The message reads as follows:

“Mr. President,

Allow me to extend my warm congratulations to you on the occasion of your re-election. Your country has, through this, reaffirmed its democratic tradition and demonstrated political stability.

Our two countries are linked by a long-standing friendship and partnership. Germany appreciates the responsible role of your country in the region and the African continent through your presidency of the African Union. Cooperation between our countries is particularly important given the persistent challenges in the region.

Germany remains very interested in developing its good relations with Mauritania. We want to support you, your government, and the Mauritanian people in implementing your objectives for peaceful coexistence, sustainable development, and broad social cohesion.

I hope that enriching discussions can take place on these questions shortly.

I wish you, Mr. President, a fruitful second term and much success in responding to the challenges that await you and realizing economic prospects for your country.
