President of the Republic Chairperson of the African Union Receives Written Message from Chadian President

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, Rotating Chairperson of the African Union, received a written message from his brother, General Mohamed Idriss Deby Itno, President of the Transitional Period and President of the Republic of Chad.

This came during the reception of the President of the Republic on Monday morning at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott by Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chadians Abroad and International Cooperation, Mr. Mohamed Saleh Nazif, as a special envoy of the President of the Republic of Chad.

Following the meeting, the Chadian envoy made a statement to the Mauritanian News Agency, in which he said that he was honored to hand over to His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, a written message from his brother, the President of the Republic of Chad, containing two points, the first of which is related to the presidential elections in Chad, where His Excellency was briefed in his capacity as Chairman of the African Union on the preliminary results of these elections.

He added that the second point is related to his country’s candidacy to manage the African Air Navigation Security Agency, and looks forward to the support of His Excellency the President of the Republic for the candidacy file.

The meeting took place in the presence of the Minister in charge of the Office of the President of the Republic, Mokhtar Ould Ajay, and the Minister of Justice, Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Cheikh Abdallahi Ould Bey, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad.
