Digital Transformation Minister Speaks Before UNCTAD Round Table

On 6 May, in Geneva, the Minister of Digital Transformation, Innovation, and Modernization of Administration delivered a speech at the round table organized by UNCTAD on the theme: “Strengthening digital readiness: from assessment to implementation” to share national and regional experiences and propose policy options to accelerate digital readiness.

The Minister highlighted the remarkable progress made by Mauritania in this area while outlining the substantial challenges facing the country in facilitating e-commerce. These advancements and challenges include ICT infrastructure, adoption of digital culture, development of appropriate legal frameworks, promotion of digital payments, accessibility to finance, addressing data gaps, and other significant numerical disparities, as he put it.
