Mauritania Participates in Oil and Gas Exploration and Exploitation Technologies Conference in Houston, USA

Houston

Mauritania, represented by a delegation from the Ministry of Petroleum, Mines and Energy, the Mauritanian Hydrocarbon Company SMH and several national institutions, is participating in the “Technologies for Exploration and Exploitation of Oil and Gas in Offshore Areas”, which will be held from May 6 to 9, in Houston, Texas, USA, known for hosting major international oil conferences.

The energy sector, at the initiative of the Mauritanian Hydrocarbon Company, is holding for the first time a special pavilion for Mauritania at this international conference, where the sector aims to highlight the significant potential of Mauritania in the field of oil, gas and renewable energies.

The Mission took the necessary measures to organize various activities within the pavilion during the conference and accompanying exhibition.

Several meetings will also be held with energy companies, investors and actors in the field, with the aim of reviewing investment opportunities in Mauritania, promoting the exploration and exploitation of oil and gas, and presenting the advantages and opportunities offered by the investment climate in Mauritania.

The OTC Conference is an important opportunity for capable countries such as Mauritania to highlight their investment offer on the one hand and learn about the latest technologies used in the exploitation of oil and gas in offshore areas on the other, which may contribute to strengthening the capabilities of the sector in the country.

Mauritania has a coastal basin with high indicators of the presence of large oil and gas potentials, as this basin has recently witnessed several oil and gas discoveries in different regions of it.

The Mauritanian coastal basin contains several world-class fields, the most important of which are, in terms of stocks and commercial advantages, the “Bir Ella” field and the “Great Turtle Ahmeim” field under development, making the Mauritanian offshore areas one of the promising areas for investment in the field of oil and gas extraction and production.

It is noteworthy that major oil companies and services related to drilling, extraction and equipment production will participate in the conference and make technical and scientific presentations on the latest developments in the sector and its technological discoveries.
