Mauritania and Germany Explore Energy Cooperation Opportunities

The Minister of Petroleum, Mines and Energy and Government Spokesman, Dr. Nani Ould Chrougha, and his accompanying delegation held a working meeting on Wednesday morning with Dr. Philipp Niemermann, Secretary of State and Minister at the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection of the Federal Government of Germany.

The meeting focused on opportunities for cooperation between Mauritania and Germany in the fields of energy, and addressed the construction of a green energy system including infrastructure, and the development of electricity storage solutions in Mauritania.

The two sides focused on the idea of financing a pilot project for green hydrogen in Mauritania.

The Mauritanian side presented its vision on the subject, highlighting the importance of achieving exemplary and scalable success.

At the end of the meeting, the Minister invited Philippe Niemermann to visit Mauritania to deepen cooperation, to be extended later.
