Commissioner for Food Security Receives Chinese Ambassador

The Commissioner for Food Security, Vatimettou Mint Khatri, received, on Wednesday at her office in Nouakchott, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to our country, H.E. Mr. Li Baijun.

The talks dealt with the existing cooperation relations between the two friendly countries, and ways to enhance and develop them, especially in the field of food security.

During the meeting, the Commissioner was briefed on the efforts of our country in the field of food security, and the roles played by the Commission within the framework of the implementation of the program of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, where it embarked on the implementation of a package of important social programs for the benefit of the most vulnerable classes, which social programs had a positive impact on the living conditions of citizens.

For his part, HE the Chinese Ambassador to our country expressed to HE the High Commissioner his appreciation for the efforts of the Mauritanian government in the field of food security and support for vulnerable classes, expressing the readiness of the People’s Republic of China to enhance cooperation with our country in the field of food security, within the framework of the existing relations of friendship and cooperation between the two friendly countries.
