On 22 January, in Nouakchott, Mr. Mohamed Zeine El Abidine Cheikh Ahmed, the President of the National Union of Mauritanian Employers (UNPM), received HE Mr. Mohamed bin Aid al-Balawi, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Mauritania.

The meeting focused on the excellent relations between our two countries, particularly the economic and commercial aspects, and the means likely to strengthen the partnership between the economic actors of the two countries.

At the start of the meeting, the UNPM President welcomed the Saudi Ambassador, appreciating this visit that reflects the depth of historical ties between the two brotherly countries.

He reviewed the economic situation of the country and the valuable opportunities available to investors in promising areas, such as agriculture, livestock, fishing, mining, gas, and green energy, as well as the geostrategic location of our country as an essential gateway to the sub-Saharan African market, which has more than 300 million inhabitants.

Ould Cheikh Ahmed hoped that the visit of the Saudi business delegation would strengthen the partnership between the economic actors of the two brotherly countries and contribute to advancing our country’s development.

For his part, Mr. al-Balawi expressed his joy at the visit of a large delegation of Saudi business leaders to Mauritania during the first half of next February, led by the President of the Federation of Saudi Chambers and comprising more than seventy high-level business leaders.
