The Conclusion of the Activities of the Energy Conference and Exhibition of the Countries Bordering the Coastal Basin

The activities of the Energy Conference and Exhibition of the Littoral Countries (MSGBC), which kicked off on Tuesday under the supervision of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, concluded Wednesday evening at the Al-Mourabitoun Conference Palace in Nouakchott.

The conference, titled “Expanding Energy Opportunities within Africa’s New Horizons”, focused on energy potential in general, especially with regard to gas, oil and renewable energy.

Ahmed Val Mohameden, Advisor for Cooperation and Communication at the Ministry of Petroleum, Mines and Energy, explained in a speech on the occasion that the presentations followed by the participants on 21 and 22 made it possible to learn more about the great potential in the field of gas, minerals and renewable energies in the coastal basin shared by Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Guinea Conakry.

He praised the level of attendance, stressing that the presentations and discussions were professional, pointing out that the conference sessions constituted an important platform for experts and executives to exchange experiences, discuss project developments and open horizons for cooperation between institutions and countries.

He praised the success of the conference, expressing his hope that it will be the beginning of other meetings with this level of quality, clarity of vision and farsightedness.

For their part, the participants in the conference praised the level of tight organization, and the seriousness of the sessions that punctuated the work of the conference, appreciating the success achieved by the conference.
