On 17 October, in Nouakchott, His Excellency, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheilh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received HE Mr. Diagne Birame Mbagnick, who presented him with his credentials as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
At the end of the presentation of the credentials, the President of the Republic granted the Senegalese diplomat an audience in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Yahya Ould Said, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, in charge of Mauritanians Abroad.
Shortly after the meeting, the new ambassador of Senegal said he was happy to present his credentials to His Excellency, the President of the Republic, on the occasion of this solemn ceremony. He added: “Since our arrival in Nouakchott, we have felt at home. We were warmly welcomed and treated in a way that reflects the excellent relations between Senegal and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. These relationships are historic and centuries-old, and we will endeavor to consolidate them under the leadership of our two Heads of State, who have a clear vision of what they want to do.”
The Senegalese diplomat finally thanked on behalf of President Macky Sall and the Senegalese government, the President of the Republic, the government, and the people of Mauritania for all the attention that was reserved for him.
