Minister of National Defense, Mr. Hanena Ould Sidi, returned yesterday to Nouakchott, coming from the Chadian capital, Ndjamena. During his stay in Chad, he participated in the meetings of the G-5 Sahel Defense Ministers and Armies Chiefs of Staff.
During these meeting, which were attended by the French partners in the Operation Barkhane, important decisions were made in the field of the operational planning and use of air means to address the security threats, particularly in the area known as the three-border zone, which is located between Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger.
The minister of defense was accompanied by Major General Mokhtar Bella Chaabane, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Armies, and Major General Mohamed Ould Lehreitani, Chief of Staff of the Air Army.
