Minister of Foreign Affairs: “We Call on Sweden and Denmark To Stop Authorizing Extremist Groups and Individuals To Insult Our Sanctities”

On 31 July, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, stressed that freedom of expression goes hand in hand with responsibility and is bound by the requirements of international law, which prohibits any incitement to religious hate, intolerance, and discrimination.

During the opening of the emergency session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, he called on Sweden and Denmark to stop authorizing extremist groups and individuals to insult Islamic sanctities and prevent the recurrence of such heinous acts.
