Nouakchott hosted, Thursday, the work of a workshop organized by the Ministry of the Public Service, Labor and Modernization of the Administration, in collaboration with the project to support fair migration in the countries of the Arab Maghreb and the International Labor Office (ILO). <\/p>\n
The workshop agenda includes a presentation on the working and living conditions of Mauritanians residing in C\u00f4te d’Ivoire, France, Gambia, Mali, and Senegal. <\/p>\n
The study will also present data about migrants, the means to offer them the appropriate conditions for their return to the country, and the facilitation of the transfer of their property, under the current conditions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. <\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister of Public Service, Labor and Modernization of the Administration, Mr. Camara Saloum Mohamed, said he was happy to supervise the launch of the workshop whose objective is to contribute to the adoption of a permanent solution to manage migration and guarantee the rights of migrant workers, from and to Mauritania. <\/p>\n
He commended the role played by the ILO and the Italian Cooperation Agency through their constant support to the sector and underlined the department’s commitment to implement all the recommendations that will result from the work of the workshop. <\/p>\n
For his part, the ILO representative in Mauritania praised the experts\u2019 efforts in preparing the study which focused on the various aspects relating to the conditions of migrants.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
