On 7 June, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, met with development project coordinators, at the presidential palace in Nouakchott. <\/p>\n
His Excellency stressed that the projects are the translation of the State’s development policy on the ground. He added that through these projects, basic services are provided to many citizens and that they represent an important part of the national economy. <\/p>\n
To this end, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghasouani has urged the coordinators to adopt the highest levels of administrative control, precision in the application of quality standards, speed of execution, transparency in management, and rigor in the application of legislative texts regulating work. <\/p>\n
His Excellency said that over the past few years, there had been serious delays in the completion of some projects, and a serious decline in the quality of completed projects, stressing the need for projects to be both qualitative, quantitative, and rapid. He also pointed out that the success of the development strategies depends on that of the projects and their ability to achieve their objectives with the required quality and within the time limits initially set. <\/p>\n
During the meeting, the President of the Republic drew the attention of project coordinators to their responsibilities in implementing public policies. His Excellency reviewed some examples of projects with delayed completion, saying that the low implementation rate of some projects has reached an unacceptable level. <\/p>\n
The President of the republic added that the delay in the execution of the projects would inevitably lead to a delay in achieving the general development objectives and consequently to a slowdown in the provision of some basic services, which is no longer acceptable. <\/p>\n
The President of the republic said that the authorities would immediately apply law for any delay in application other than force majeure, any violation of quality standards, and any failure in management. His Excellency emphasized his personal commitment to monitor the work of all these projects. <\/p>\n
He also urged the Prime Minister and the ministers responsible for the projects to closely monitor the execution of the works, step by step and on a daily basis. <\/p>\n
Furthermore, His Excellency stressed that the State would not tolerate any excuse related to mismanagement, delay in completion, violation of quality standards, or compromise of public property.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
