Mr. Grande-Marlaska is on a working visit to Mauritania at the head of a high-level official delegation.<\/p>\n<p>The two sides discussed strengthening Mauritania-Spain cooperation in security and combating irregular migration. The Mauritanian minister outlined efforts to combat smuggling and human trafficking, reinforce border control, and prevent irregular migration to Europe.<\/p>\n<p>The Spanish minister praised Mauritania\u2019s efforts, describing bilateral relations as \u201ctruly exceptional\u201d and reaffirming Spain\u2019s commitment to expanding cooperation in security, economic, and social fields.
