The Minister of Economy and Development, Mr. Mohamedou Ahmedou Mhaimid, held talks on Wednesday, in the Spanish capital, Madrid, with the President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Jos\u00e9 Luis Bonet, on the sidelines of his participation in the high-level events of the Sustainable Development Goals Financing Dialogue Forums.<\/p>\n
The Minister highlighted the country\u2019s investment opportunities, incentives for foreign investors, and recent reforms to the Investment Code aimed at improving the business climate and attracting capital.<\/p>\n
The President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce praised Mauritania\u2019s economic reforms, expressing Spanish businesses\u2019 interest in available investment opportunities and the Chamber\u2019s readiness to encourage Spanish companies to expand their presence and contribute to the country\u2019s economic development.<\/p>\n
Economic ties between the two countries have strengthened in recent years, notably through the Mauritanian-Spanish Business Forum held in Nouakchott on July 16, 2025.
