The Minister of Trade and Tourism, Ms. Zeinebou Mint Ahmednah, affirmed on Sunday, during the opening session of the Global Investment Forum 2026 in Doha, Qatar, that Mauritania is committed to improving the business climate, diversifying its economy, and strengthening the role of the private sector, in line with the vision of His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.<\/p>\n
She noted that the new investment law adopted in 2025 aims to enhance investor protection, simplify procedures, and promote productive investment, job creation, and sustainable development.<\/p>\n
The Minister highlighted Mauritania\u2019s strategic location and natural resources, as well as investment opportunities in tourism, trade, energy, and the digital economy. She stressed the importance of technology transfer, local expertise development, and integrating small and medium-sized enterprises into value chains.<\/p>\n
She also underscored the need to strengthen strategic partnerships and cooperation with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), particularly in improving investment policies and supporting a sustainable digital economy.<\/p>\n
