The Minister of Health, Mr. Sidi Ould Zehaf, participated, Tuesday via videoconference, with his counterparts from Senegal and The Gambia, in a meeting devoted to the emergence of polio cases in the three countries and to the means likely to allow to cope with possible outbreak of this disease by organizing vaccination campaigns in the three countries and strengthening control and prevention capacities. <\/p>\n
The meeting also saw the participation of the head of the UNICEF African office and the representative of the WHO African office, as well as the emergency officer at the same organization in addition to polio and immunization experts. <\/p>\n
The meeting was also attended by the WHO representative to Mauritania and the deputy representative of UNICEF to the country, Mr. Cheikh Baye Ould M’Khaitrate, Officer in Charge of Special Duties at the Ministry of Health, the media advisor, the interim director general of health and other officials.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
