Mauritania and Saudi Arabia have signed a long-term land lease agreement to strengthen agricultural investment in the Brakna region, marking a significant step in bilateral cooperation on food production and agricultural development.<\/p>\n
The agreement was signed on July 21 in Nouakchott by Mr. Mamoudou Mamadou Niang, Mauritania’s Minister of Real Estate, State Property, and Land Reform, and Mr. Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Talal, Director General of the Saudi E-Rif Investment company.<\/p>\n
Under the agreement, the Saudi company will lease 53,957 hectares of agricultural land located in the Boghe and Aleg departments of the Wilaya of Brakna for long-term development.<\/p>\n
As part of the project, E-Rif will invest substantial financial resources and deploy modern agricultural technologies to enhance agricultural production. The initiative is also expected to strengthen Mauritania’s national agricultural capacity by introducing advanced farming practices and increasing investment in the sector.<\/p>\n
