Today, Tuesday, in Nouakchott, a series of agreements were signed by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Abdellahy Ould Souleymane Ould Cheikh Sidiya; the Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Mr. Mohamed Ould Khaled; the Minister of Finance, Mr. Kodioro Moussa Ngu\u00e9nore; and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi company ACWA Power, Mr. Mohammad Abdullah Abunayyan. The agreements relate to the construction and operation of a power plant with a capacity of up to 230 megawatts in the N’Diago area of Trarza Wilaya, fueled by gas from the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) gas project.<\/p>\n
The power plant\u2014the first of its kind in Mauritania to be developed under the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model\u2014aims to strengthen the country’s energy security and ensure reliable, sustainable electricity generation to meet growing demand.
