The delegation attended the presentation of the UN Special Rapporteur&#8217;s report on the human rights of migrants in Mauritania, followed by the interactive dialogue.<\/p>\n<p>The chairman stated that the Commission agrees with the report\u2019s assessment of Mauritania&#8217;s progress in protecting the rights of irregular migrants, particularly through strengthening the legal framework and cooperation with international partners. He also stressed the importance of continuing efforts to protect the most vulnerable groups, including women, children, and asylum seekers.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the Commission\u2019s field teams had not recorded systematic violations of migrants\u2019 rights, attacks on their property, or other abuses against them. Instead, they observed particular attention being given to safeguarding migrants\u2019 rights in reception and rescue centers.<\/p>\n<p>In concluding his remarks, the chairman called for stronger prevention, monitoring, and grievance mechanisms throughout all stages of migration.
