The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad has announced that it is continuing its diplomatic contacts and efforts to obtain accurate information regarding the situation of Mauritanian citizens participating in the \u201cResilience Flotilla\u201d, which is heading to the Gaza Strip on a humanitarian mission.<\/p>\n

A statement issued today, Thursday, in Nouakchott explained that these efforts form part of the Mauritanian authorities\u2019 ongoing commitment to protecting citizens abroad and defending their interests.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad is following with great concern the situation of the following Mauritanian citizens:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
\u2013 Ahmed Jeddou<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u2013 Mohamed Baba<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u2013 Isselmou Al-Ma\u2019lum<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
who were among the participants in the \u2018Global Flotilla of Steadfastness\u2019 heading on a humanitarian mission to the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n
The Ministry assures the public and the families of those concerned that it is closely monitoring, through its accredited diplomatic missions and in coordination with the relevant authorities, the situation of the citizens in question, and is committed to making every effort to ensure their well-being, guarantee their safety and safeguard their rights.<\/p>\n
The Ministry is also continuing its contacts and diplomatic efforts to obtain all necessary information regarding their current situation and to work towards securing their release as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
