{"id":31373,"date":"2026-04-19T21:04:58","date_gmt":"2026-04-19T21:04:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ami.mr\/en\/?p=31373"},"modified":"2026-04-19T21:06:51","modified_gmt":"2026-04-19T21:06:51","slug":"president-of-republic-returns-to-nouakchott-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ami.mr\/en\/archives\/31373","title":{"rendered":"President of Republic Returns to Nouakchott"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, returned to Nouakchott this Sunday from Paris, following a state visit to France at the invitation of his French counterpart, His Excellency Emmanuel Macron.<\/p>\n<p>This visit marked an important step in strengthening the Franco-Mauritanian partnership, built on trust, ambition, and a shared vision serving the interests of both countries.<\/p>\n<p>Upon his arrival at Nouakchott\u2013Oumtounsy International Airport, the President was welcomed by the Prime Minister, Mokhtar Ould Djay; the Minister-Advisor to the Presidency, Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Cheikh Abdallahi Ben Boya; the Minister of Justice, Mohamed Ould Soueidatt; the Minister of Defense, Veterans and Children of Martyrs, Hanena Ould Sidi; the Minister of the Interior, Decentralization and Local Development, Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lemine; the Director of the President\u2019s Cabinet; as well as Major General Mohamed El Mokhtar Cheikh Emeni; the Wali of Nouakchott Ouest, Hamoud Ould M\u2019Hamed; and the Vice-President of the Nouakchott Region, Hawa Sidib\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>The President was accompanied by a high-level delegation that included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mariem Fadel Dah, First Lady;<\/li>\n<li>Nani Ould Chrougha, Minister in charge of the President\u2019s Cabinet;<\/li>\n<li>Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad;<\/li>\n<li>Abdallahi Ould Souleymane Ould Cheikh Sidiya, Minister of Economic Affairs and Development;<\/li>\n<li>Mokhtar Ould Ahmed Bousseif, Minister of Fisheries and Maritime and Port Infrastructure;<\/li>\n<li>Sidney Sokhna, Vice-President of the National Assembly;<\/li>\n<li>Mohamed Yahya Ould Teiss, Mauritania\u2019s Ambassador to Paris;<\/li>\n<li>Coumba Ba, Special Envoy of the President to La Francophonie;<\/li>\n<li>Harouna Traor\u00e9, Mission Officer at the Presidency;<\/li>\n<li>Sid\u2019Ahmed Ould Raiss, Advisor to the Presidency;<\/li>\n<li>Ahmed Baba Ould Eleya, Mission Officer at the Presidency;<\/li>\n<li>Isselmou Ould Mohamed Mbady, Advisor to the Presidency;<\/li>\n<li>El Hacen Ould Ahmed, Director General of State Protocol.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Among private sector figures, Mohamed Zine El Abidine Ould Cheikh Ahmed, President of the National Union of Mauritanian Employers, was also part of the delegation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, returned to Nouakchott this Sunday from Paris, following a state visit to France at the invitation of his French counterpart, His Excellency Emmanuel Macron.
