The 34th session of the FAO Regional Conference for Africa at the expert level kicked off today, Monday, at the \u201cMokhtar Ould Daddah\u201d Conference Center in the capital, Nouakchott, paving the way for the ministerial conference to be held on the 17th of this month.<\/p>\n
The conference, held under the theme \u201cStrengthening partnerships, setting priorities, and directing investments for the transformation of agri-food systems in Mauritania,\u201d on discussing a range of key issues, most notably assessing the results of the organization\u2019s activities on the continent during the 2024\u20132025 period, identifying regional priorities for the coming phase, and following up on the implementation of the Kampala Declaration regarding the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Program.<\/p>\n
Discussions will also address ways to sustainably manage natural resources, particularly land and water, and strengthen the resilience of food systems in the face of climate change and various crises, as well as examine a number of organizational matters, including the preparation of the draft final report to be submitted to the Ministerial Meeting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
