The health minister ,Sidi Mohamed Ould Zahaf, supervised today Saturday at the Oum Tounnssy international airport to the arrival of the batch of 108000 Jhonsons and Jhonsons vaccine doses out of 350000 presumed to arrive during next days. These vaccines are funded commonly by the Mauritanian government and the World Bank through the African union initiative to access to inoculations against Covid 19 virus.
\nThe health minister ,on the occasion thanked all partners in the initiative, specially the world bank that contributed into the purchase of the lot of vaccines and also the UN organisations and the UNICEF which is providing logistics means to deliver the latter.
\nThe minister praised the awareness campaigns triggered days ago, and added that the target is to vaccinate 2600000 persons to mitigate the impacts of the virus and reach the herd immunity.
\nOn his turn the united nations resident coordinator , Anthony Kawaki Ehmeg , praised efforts led by the government regarding economic, social and education problems that might impact citizens and measures to alleviate them .And he assessed that efforts taken within the frame of the African cooperation had good results that allow the government to move in the right direction to fight the Covid -19 pandemic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
