A memorandum of understanding was signed on Monday in Nouakchott between the National Union of Mauritanian Employers (UNPM) and the G-5 Sahel. <\/p>\n
The agreement aims to establish a framework for cooperation and management in the fields of transport, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, fisheries, environment, mining, industries, services, human resources, training, and other areas of common interest. <\/p>\n
The agreement also aims to support economic development in the Sahel region within the framework of the activities of the Executive Secretariat of the G-5-Sahel Sahel and the UNPM. <\/p>\n
In a speech on this occasion, Mr. Zein El Abidine Ould Cheikh Ahmed, Chairman of the UNPM and Chairman of the Federation of G-5 Sahel Employers indicated that the signing of this memorandum of understanding of cooperation will increase the impact of their activities for the benefit of the Sahel region and its populations. <\/p>\n
He added that the protocol of the agreement is the concretization of the Declaration of N’Djamena on 15 February 2021 particularly in its seventh point, which gives the private sector the role of main factor of stability and development. <\/p>\n
In turn, the G-5 Sahel Executive Secretary, Mr. Maman Sambo Sidiko, underlined the importance of the protocol which materializes the level of partnership between the G-5 Executive Secretariat and the UNPM, stressing that local solutions in the region of the Sahel can effectively help address the multiple challenges that range from underdevelopment to insecurity, including the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
