The National Agency for Statistics and Demographic and Economic Analysis announced that the Consumer Price Index recorded an increase of 1.1% during the month of July, compared to June, bringing the inflation rate to 1.4% according to the change over the last twelve months and to 1.3% according to the annual slip.<\/p>\n
The agency added in its monthly bulletin regarding the development of the national consumer price index for July 2025, that this increase is mainly attributed to a rise in the prices of “food and non-alcoholic beverages” by 1.4% and “housing, water, gas, electricity, and other fuels” by 1.4%, and “furniture, household goods, and current maintenance of the home” by 0.6%.<\/p>\n
The agency explained in its report that the prices of “food products and non-alcoholic beverages” recorded an increase of 1.4% during July 2025 compared to June, noting that this increase is mainly attributed to the rise in prices recorded at the level of subgroups that included “sugar, jam, honey, chocolate, and candy” by 5.8%, “fish and seafood” by 5.1%, “vegetables” by 2.8%, “coffee, tea, and cocoa” by 1.9%, “milk, cheese, and eggs” by 1.8%, and “meat” by 1.5%.<\/p>\n
The report indicated that these increases were partially mitigated by the decline in prices recorded in the two sub-groups: “fruits” by -0.1%, and “bread and cereals” by -0.9%.<\/p>\n
The agency pointed out in the bulletin that the prices of “furniture, household items, and ongoing home maintenance” saw a monthly increase of 0.6%, noting that this rise is particularly attributed to the increase recorded in the two subgroups: “furniture and restoration” at 0.8% and “non-durable household items” at 0.4%.<\/p>\n
The National Agency for Statistics and Demographic and Economic Analysis indicated in its report that core inflation (excluding energy and fresh materials) reached 1.0% based on the change over the last twelve months, and 0.9% according to the annual slip.<\/p>\n
According to the source, the prices of imported products witnessed an increase of 1.5% compared to last June, bringing imported inflation to 0.7%, based on changes over the past twelve months, and to 0.2% according to the annual sliding. The report noted that local product prices rose by 0.7% compared to last month, causing local inflation to reach 2.0% based on changes over the past twelve months, and to 2.1% according to the annual sliding.<\/p>\n
