Mr. Mohamed Abdallah Ould Louly, Minister of Youth Empowerment, Employment, Sports, and Civil Service, presided over the launch of the 2025 ‘Machrouy Moustaqbali\u2019 Program at the ministry’s headquarters in Nouakchott on Friday. The program aims to finance and support 1,500 projects and create at least 4,000 direct jobs.<\/p>\n
The 2025 edition, which is part of the sector’s efforts to combat unemployment and create job opportunities for young people in line with the national employment strategy, aims to promote transparency and ensure that projects with real potential for success are selected.<\/p>\n
The Minister of Youth Empowerment, Employment, Sports and Civil Service emphasized that this edition is at the heart of the vision of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, which places youth empowerment within the national economic development strategy.<\/p>\n
He explained that the sector has developed an employment strategy based on three main pillars, the first of which relates to active employment policies, developing opportunities in productive sectors, financing and supporting small enterprises, promoting the sustainability of employment opportunities, and adopting value chains based on actual economic returns.<\/p>\n
He explained that the second pillar focuses on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises through a special entrepreneurship window that provides a range of appropriate services, including technical support, facilitated access to finance, quality certification, and incentives to enhance competitiveness.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that the third pillar concerns intensifying supply and increasing employability in the labor market, particularly through an ambitious job creation program and training and qualification programs for broad categories of young people that enhance their employability skills.<\/p>\n
He said that the 2025 version of the program comes in a new format that simplifies the required data, explains it in all national languages, and specifies the commitments that will prevent many of the imbalances that were identified after a comprehensive review of previous versions of the program.<\/p>\n
The ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry, Mr. Naji Ould Khatri, and a number of senior officials from the sector.<\/p>\n
